"Push to Talk"

Tariffman are looking to partner with one of our customers who have developed a 'Push to Talk' system for GPRS enabled devices. The system will work in a simlar way to Skype whereby each user will have an application where they can see, if any of their other 'Push to Talk' contacts are online. They can then Dial  them the same way as they would a normal contact.

Obviously, Push to Talk technology has been around for a few years now but if you combine this technology with Tariffmans own low cost GPRS tariff for the EU and US, what you have effectively created is a means of eliminating costly Voice Roaming charges.

The technology is already working and in the final stages of approvals and we expect to be able to offer this as a service to our customers by the end of March 2008.

costs of a 1 minute GPRS PTT 'roaming voice call' is expected to be in the region of 5p.
